The territorial approach established by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, to clarify the crimes committed against human rights defenders, people in process of reincorporation, community leaders and peasants, representatives of indigenous communities, among other populations with special protection, allowed the Special Itinerant Group to obtain important investigative advances.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Antioquia\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Thanks to the evidence provided by the Office of the Attorney General, the Third Criminal Court of the Special Circuit Court in Antioquia sentenced Jos\u00e9 Daniel V\u00e9lez Valencia, alias el Flaco, hitman of the so-called ‘Clan del Golfo’, for criminal acts that were committed in Ituango (Antioquia), between December 13, 2019 and January 12, 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This person was sentenced to 19 years in prison and charged with aggravated murder, aggravated criminal conspiracy; manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition; torture, theft and kidnapping.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With this action, the Special Itinerant Group of the Office of the Attorney General clarifies four criminal actions in Ituango (Antioquia):\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Murder of a person in process of reincorporation: Manuel Antonio Gonz\u00e1lez Buelvas, which took place on December 13, 2019 in the rural area Quebrada del Medio.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Murder of the community leader Carlos Andr\u00e9s Cardona Ruiz, on January 1st, 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Kidnapping and torture of a minor, relative of a person in process of reincorporation committed on January 11th<\/sup>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Theft committed on January 12, 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In this way, the Office of the Attorney General continues impacting the substructure\u00a0Edwin Rom\u00e1n Vel\u00e1squez Valle<\/i>, a substructure of Clan del Golfo. Its alleged leader, Le\u00f3n Dar\u00edo \u00dasuga Manco, alias Juan or el Negro, was arrested and prosecuted.\u00a0\u00a0The process of another of its hitmen, Cristian Felipe R\u00faa Rodas, alias Pipe, precluded due to his death.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Pasto (Nari\u00f1o)\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

    The First Municipal Criminal Court in Pasto (Nari\u00f1o), with supervisory functions, approved the arguments presented by the Office of the Attorney General and imposed a prison sentence against Luis Mauricio Archila, as the alleged perpetrator of the murder of Jaime Rodrigo D\u00edaz Arciniegas, a person in process of reincorporation, which took place on June 29, in Pasto (Nari\u00f1o).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    For these facts, the Office of the Attorney General charged him with aggravated murder with multiple concurrent crimes and illegal possession of weapons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Quibd\u00f3 (Choc\u00f3)\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

    Before a supervisory judge in Quibd\u00f3 (Choc\u00f3), the Office of the Attorney General charged Calletano Hinestroza Renter\u00eda, alias Bamboleo, with aggravated murder with multiple concurrent crimes and aggravated illegal possession of firearms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    According to the investigations, the person was the co-author of the murder of Cresencio Santos Espinoza, a person in process of reincorporation, which was committed on January 12, 2020 in neighborhood Los Alamos, sector La Arrocera in Quibd\u00f3 (Choc\u00f3). Alias \u200b\u200bBamboleo must serve a prison sentence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    La Macarena (Meta)\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

    Rolan Arnulfo Torres Huertas, alias \u00c1lvaro Boyaco, alleged leader of the Residual Organized Armed Group (Gaor), Jorge Brice\u00f1o Su\u00e1rez, was sent to prison for the crimes of aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder; manufacture, trafficking and possession of arms, ammunition for restricted use, for the exclusive use of the armed forces or explosives; conspiracy to commit a crime, and aggravated robbery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    With the prosecution of Torres Huertas, 11 murders were clarified (one person in process of reincorporation, eight Army officers, a patrolman and a civilian) and 13 attempted homicides. Facts took place between January and June 2020 in La Macarena (Meta).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The Office of the Attorney General makes this information public for reasons of general interest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
