{"id":39516,"date":"2020-11-30T07:06:04","date_gmt":"2020-11-30T12:06:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=39516"},"modified":"2020-12-01T07:19:36","modified_gmt":"2020-12-01T12:19:36","slug":"a-transnational-network-that-trafficked-drugs-in-stationery-products-was-dismantled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/11\/30\/a-transnational-network-that-trafficked-drugs-in-stationery-products-was-dismantled\/","title":{"rendered":"A transnational network that trafficked drugs in stationery products was dismantled"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><em><strong><span lang=\"en-US\">Six people, including the alleged leader, his partner, and a brother-in-law, were arrested in the joint operation carried out in Bogot\u00e1 and San Jos\u00e9 del Guaviare.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><em><strong><span lang=\"en-US\">The structure would be at the service of the 1st residual group.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The Office of the Attorney General, through the Special Directorate against Drug Trafficking and the CTI, in conjunction with the National Army, dismantled a transnational organization involved in trafficking drugs to North America and Europe, which would have connection with the Organized Armed Groups (Gaor) from the east of the country.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">In simultaneous search warrants carried out in Bogot\u00e1 and San Jos\u00e9 del Guaviare (Guaviare), six alleged members of the criminal network were arrested. Among the people arrested were:\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">alias Mollejita, the alleged leader; his sentimental partner and a brother-in-law, who would be the people who helped him to support the illegal sell of synthetic drugs and cocaine hydrochloride.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Moreover, it was possible to establish that the structure produced and collected the narcotics on farms located in the rural area El Caracol, in San Jos\u00e9 del Guaviare. From this area, it coordinated shipments to the main city of the country to be later hidden in different types of merchandise, mainly folder covers and other stationery items to be sent to the United States and European countries.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">After one year of investigations, 50 kilograms of cocaine and 100,000 doses of LSD were seized.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">A prosecutor from the Special Directorate against Drug Trafficking brought 5 people before a supervisory judge who charged them with aggravated trafficking, manufacture, or possession of drugs. Given the conclusive evidence presented, a supervisory judge imposed a prison sentence.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">People involved are:<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Renso Villamil Espitia, alias Mollejita, alleged leader of the network. This person would have used his knowledge of chemistry to plan new forms to hide and modify drugs to evade the controls of the authorities.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Genith Cecilia S\u00e1nchez Esc\u00e1rraga, alias Omitido, alias Mollejita\u2019s sentimental partner. She was allegedly in charge of the logistics and to communicate the instructions to other members.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Ronal Mauricio Real Esc\u00e1rraga, alias Burro Ciego, Genith Cecilia\u00b4s brother. He allegedly coordinated the transportation of illegal substances at national level. The Office of the Attorney General charged this person with criminal conspiracy.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Orlando S\u00e1nchez S\u00e1nchez, alias Princesa or el Zarco. Apparently, he was one of the drugs transporters and the person in charge of contacting people to guarantee deliveries in different cities.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">Jos\u00e9 Miguel Silva G\u00f3mez, alias Picard\u00edas or Micky. The evidence shows that\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><a id=\"LPlnk562207\"><\/a>he used to \u2018keep watch\u2019, that is, he alerted about the presence of the public force to evade the controls.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-US\">C\u00e9sar Augusto Moreno Coronado, alias Boyaco.
