{"id":39470,"date":"2020-11-09T18:41:20","date_gmt":"2020-11-09T23:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=39470"},"modified":"2020-11-10T09:51:29","modified_gmt":"2020-11-10T14:51:29","slug":"the-urban-leader-of-the-so-called-clan-del-golfo-was-sent-to-prison-for-the-murder-of-the-environmentalist-in-choco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/11\/09\/the-urban-leader-of-the-so-called-clan-del-golfo-was-sent-to-prison-for-the-murder-of-the-environmentalist-in-choco\/","title":{"rendered":"The urban leader of the so-called \u2018Clan del Golfo\u2019 was sent to prison for the murder of the environmentalist in Choc\u00f3"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong><em><span lang=\"en-US\">The Office of the Attorney General achieved the prosecution of alias \u2018Tigre\u2019 or \u2018Guach\u00f3n\u2019 for the crimes of aggravated femicide and criminal conspiracy.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Based on the conclusive evidence collected by the Office of the Attorney General, a supervisory judge imposed a detention measure with imprisonment for N\u00e9stor Leonel Lozano Muriel, for his alleged responsibility in the crime of the environmentalist Juana Mar\u00eda Perea Plata, which took place on October 29 in Nuqu\u00ed (Choc\u00f3).\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The results of several forensic examinations and other elements made it possible to establish that the Colombian-Spanish citizen received degrading treatment and was subjected to an humiliating and terrifying condition. Therefore, a prosecutor of the Special Directorate against Human Rights Violations charged the defendant with aggravated femicide and criminal conspiracy.\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The investigation reveals that the armed men arrived at the victim&#8217;s house in the rural area of Termales, they took her against her will in a boat that crossed the Pacific to Nuqu\u00ed river and in a sector known as Coqu\u00ed, they shot her. The corpse of the environmentalist was thrown into the waters and, later, was located by the community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">N\u00e9stor Leonel Lozano Muriel, alias \u2018Tigre\u2019 or \u2018Guach\u00f3n\u2019, would be the head of an urban structure of the so-called \u2018Clan del Golfo\u2019.
