{"id":39400,"date":"2020-10-21T06:00:22","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T11:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=39400"},"modified":"2020-10-22T14:00:44","modified_gmt":"2020-10-22T19:00:44","slug":"alias-chamo-or-jaminson-alleged-member-of-the-so-called-guerrillas-unidas-del-pacifico-was-arrested-with-a-view-to-extradition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/10\/21\/alias-chamo-or-jaminson-alleged-member-of-the-so-called-guerrillas-unidas-del-pacifico-was-arrested-with-a-view-to-extradition\/","title":{"rendered":"Alias &#8220;Chamo or Jaminson&#8221;, alleged member of the so-called Guerrillas Unidas del Pac\u00edfico was arrested with a view to extradition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><span lang=\"en-US\">Jaminson Cuero Perlaza, alleged chief of Farc dissent and liaison with Mexican drug trafficking cartels, is wanted by a Florida Federal Court since he allegedly sent tons of cocaine to the United States in recent years.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Within the framework of operation \u201cThanatos\u201d, CTI investigators of the Special Investigations Team (Equipo de Investigaciones Especiales), CTI members of the Branch Office in Tumaco, with the support of National Army and thanks to\u00a0\u00a0information provided by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, located and arrested Jaminson Cuero Perlaza, alias &#8220;Jaminson, Chamo or James&#8221;, who has a valid arrest warrant with a view to extradition to the United States for drug trafficking-related crimes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The arrest warrant with a view to extradition was requested in April 2018 by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida on two charges. Apparently, alias Jaminson had in his possession, with intent to distribute, five kilograms or more of cocaine with knowledge and reasonable cause to believe that the cocaine would be illegally imported into the United States.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">This arrest is a result of the strategic direction defined by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, to fight transnational drug trafficking.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><u><span lang=\"en-US\">Criminal record\u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">&#8220;Chamo or Jaminson&#8221; is a cousin of alias &#8220;Boroj\u00f3&#8221;, leader of the guerrillas known as\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Guerrillas Unidas del Pac\u00edfico<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0and was allegedly in charge of coordinating and sending cocaine shipments from clandestine ports in the Pacific of Nari\u00f1o for 8 years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The investigation showed that drugs were trafficked on speedboats to Panama and submarines to different countries in Central America. Then, the drug would be sold to Jalisco Nueva Generaci\u00f3n cartel in Mexico. Jaminson Cuero Perlaza would also be part of FARC dissident in Nari\u00f1o.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Cuero Perlaza was placed under the authority of the Attorney General.
