{"id":39115,"date":"2020-08-27T17:25:47","date_gmt":"2020-08-27T22:25:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=39115"},"modified":"2020-08-28T11:09:16","modified_gmt":"2020-08-28T16:09:16","slug":"the-office-of-the-attorney-general-prosecutes-the-alleged-murderers-of-the-elected-mayor-of-sutatausa-cundinamarca-jose-humberto-rodriguez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/08\/27\/the-office-of-the-attorney-general-prosecutes-the-alleged-murderers-of-the-elected-mayor-of-sutatausa-cundinamarca-jose-humberto-rodriguez\/","title":{"rendered":"The Office of the Attorney General prosecutes the alleged murderers of the elected mayor of Sutatausa (Cundinamarca), Jos\u00e9 Humberto Rodr\u00edguez"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><em><strong><span lang=\"en-US\">In Pasto (Nari\u00f1o), the Attorney General announced the results.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The people investigated would be part of the criminal structure known as \u2018Los Cacharros\u2019 which commits crimes in the Department.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The Office of the Attorney General, within an inter-institutional cooperation with the judicial police-Sij\u00edn arrested three people allegedly responsible for the murder of the elected mayor of the municipality of Sutatausa (Cundinamarca), Jos\u00e9 Humberto Rodr\u00edguez which took place on December 3 in that population.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Based on the strategy of dismantling criminal organizations proposed by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, the Branch Office in Cundinamarca proved\u00a0\u00a0that the defendants, apparently belong to the criminal structure known as Los Cacharros, engaged in practices of hiring hit men in the Department.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Investigations allowed to identify that the people arrested fulfilled specific roles within the gang, as follows: alias Caucano, motorcycle driver; alias el Boyaco, supposedly responsible for paying the money and collaborating with the logistics; alias el Primo, in charge of logistics; and alias Firme, an alleged hitman of the organization. The latter was arrested in a traffic police checkpoint in Sop\u00f3 (Cundinamarca) on March 10 for other facts, but he is considered the perpetrator of Rodr\u00edguez&#8217;s murder.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">A supervisory judge legalized the arrests of the first three defendants that were carried out by the Sij\u00edn judicial police on August 26 in Bogot\u00e1 and municipalities of Ubat\u00e9 (Cundinamarca) and Chiquinquir\u00e1 (Boyac\u00e1).
