{"id":38956,"date":"2020-07-16T16:37:22","date_gmt":"2020-07-16T21:37:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=38956"},"modified":"2020-07-17T06:58:25","modified_gmt":"2020-07-17T11:58:25","slug":"the-office-of-the-attorney-general-has-concluded-veterinary-forensic-analysis-on-the-death-of-lion-jupiter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/07\/16\/the-office-of-the-attorney-general-has-concluded-veterinary-forensic-analysis-on-the-death-of-lion-jupiter\/","title":{"rendered":"The Office of the Attorney General has concluded veterinary-forensic analysis on the death of lion Jupiter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to a joint work coordinated by the Office of the Attorney General through the Special\u00a0group \u00a0against \u00a0animal \u00a0abuse \u00a0(<strong>Grupo \u00a0Especial \u00a0contra \u00a0el \u00a0Maltrato \u00a0Animal <\/strong>GELMA in Spanish ), two teams of specialists concluded the legal veterinary examination of\u00a0lion &#8216;Jupiter&#8217; corpse and concluded that the lion died as a result of a multi-system failure caused by a heart disease, a chronic kidney disease, and a multicenter cancer with a chronic hepatic damage.<\/p>\n<p>Besides members of the judicial police of the Technical \u00a0Investigative Corps\u00a0 (Cuerpo\u00a0 T\u00e9cnico\u00a0 de\u00a0 investigaci\u00f3n\u00a0 CTI in Spanish), other teams led by the veterinary who looked after\u00a0 &#8216;Jupiter&#8217; while he was alive and a pathologist veterinary participated in the examination. They were also supported by public and private forensic laboratories of academic institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The scientific conclusion about the natural death of \u2018Jupiter\u2019 will be part of the ongoing judicial process.
