{"id":38865,"date":"2020-06-21T19:14:17","date_gmt":"2020-06-22T00:14:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=38865"},"modified":"2020-06-30T11:12:41","modified_gmt":"2020-06-30T16:12:41","slug":"office-of-the-attorney-general-achieved-convictions-against-people-who-committed-attacks-against-human-rights-defenders-and-demobilized-farcs-members-in-antioquia-and-bogota","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/06\/21\/office-of-the-attorney-general-achieved-convictions-against-people-who-committed-attacks-against-human-rights-defenders-and-demobilized-farcs-members-in-antioquia-and-bogota\/","title":{"rendered":"Office of the Attorney General achieved convictions against people who committed attacks against human rights defenders and demobilized FARC\u00b4s  members in Antioquia and Bogot\u00e1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>The investigations carried out by the Office of the Attorney General were decisive to achieve four convictions against those responsible for committing attacks against human rights defenders and demobilized FARC\u00b4s members.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Affectations to the community in Uraba (Antioquia) have been clarified<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In two different pronouncements, specialized judges in Quibd\u00f3 (Choc\u00f3) sentenced Jhon Jairo Renteria, alias Chimu, leader of the so-called Carlos V\u00e1squez structure of \u2018Clan del Golfo\u2019 to 24 years and 7 months in prison; and Eder Manuel Mart\u00ednez de La Cruz, alias Patotas, member of the same criminal organization to 14 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Alias \u200b\u200bChimu was charged with aggravated murder, attempted murder, terrorism, illegal possession of firearms, aggravated criminal conspiracy, receiving (aggravated) and threats. For his part, alias Patotas was charged with aggravated murder, illegal possession of weapons, aggravated criminal conspiracy, and threats.<\/p>\n<p>The evidence collected by the Special Investigation Unit (UEI) revealed the participation of the defendants in the following criminal actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Murder of a person in reincorporation process, Adri\u00e1n P\u00e9rez Vargas, which took place on June 23, 2018 between the area of Mutat\u00e1 (Antioquia) and Riosucio (Choc\u00f3).<\/li>\n<li>Murder of Duberney G\u00f3mez Echavarr\u00eda, son of land-reclaimant.
