{"id":38843,"date":"2020-06-16T08:28:26","date_gmt":"2020-06-16T13:28:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=38843"},"modified":"2020-06-16T17:38:20","modified_gmt":"2020-06-16T22:38:20","slug":"an-alleged-financial-leader-of-the-farc-dissent-and-3-other-people-sent-to-prison-for-the-illegal-possession-of-firearms-of-private-use","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/06\/16\/an-alleged-financial-leader-of-the-farc-dissent-and-3-other-people-sent-to-prison-for-the-illegal-possession-of-firearms-of-private-use\/","title":{"rendered":"An alleged financial leader of the Farc dissent and 3 other people sent to prison for the illegal possession of firearms of private use"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"en-US\">After approving the request made by the Office of the Attorney General, Edgar Quitumbo\u00a0Pe\u00f1as, alias &#8216;James&#8217; or &#8216;El Gordo&#8217;, an alleged leader of a residual armed group of the Jaime Mart\u00ednez column (columna movil), as well as 3 other people, were sent to prison by a supervisory judge for the alleged commission of manufacturing, trafficking, or\u00a0\u00a0possession of firearms for exclusive use of the Armed Forces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The defendants were apprehended in flagrante<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">on June 11 in the rural settlement named El Naranjal, jurisdiction of the municipality of Su\u00e1rez (Cauca) by members of Dijin- National Police, with the support of the Army.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The authorities found alias &#8216;James&#8217; or &#8216;El Gordo&#8217;, as well as Rodrigo Zetty Bototo, Luis David Ortiz Qui\u00f1\u00f3nez and Juan Carlos Noscue Dagua in possession of\u00a0\u00a04 handguns, 2 IM-16 grenades, $30 million in cash, 2 USB flash drives, a radio for communications, and 3 checkbooks with the letterhead of Jaime Mart\u00ednez Column.
