{"id":38816,"date":"2020-06-04T16:21:57","date_gmt":"2020-06-04T21:21:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=38816"},"modified":"2020-06-08T12:11:27","modified_gmt":"2020-06-08T17:11:27","slug":"employees-of-a-hospital-foundation-in-medellin-were-brought-before-court-for-alleged-millionaire-looting-of-expensive-drugs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/06\/04\/employees-of-a-hospital-foundation-in-medellin-were-brought-before-court-for-alleged-millionaire-looting-of-expensive-drugs\/","title":{"rendered":"Employees of a hospital foundation in Medell\u00edn were brought before court for alleged millionaire looting of expensive drugs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><i><span lang=\"en-US\">The owner of a pharmacy who allegedly bought the stolen products was also arrested.<\/span><\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, a detention measure with home imprisonment was issued against Hugo Le\u00f3n S\u00e1nchez Pineda and Wilson Ariel Ocampo Berm\u00fadez for alleged criminal conspiracy (multiple concurrent crimes) and aggravated robbery and abusive access to a computer system.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">According to\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">the investigation which was carried out by a prosecutor appointed to the Support Structure (<\/span><span lang=\"es\">Estructura de Apoyo\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">EDA in Spanish ), between\u00a0\u00a02017 and 2020, the defendants who worked in<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0the supply area of \u200b\u200bthe hospital foundation\u00a0<i>San Vicente de Pa\u00fal<\/i>\u00a0in Medell\u00edn allegedly took possession of expensive drugs amounting to 654 million pesos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">To take possession of the drugs, the defendants allegedly manipulated the entity&#8217;s computer system and made believe that medicines were required by the competent areas. The products were removed from the hospital undetected and then sold to pharmacy owners who seemed to know about their illicit origin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Among the stolen products, there were drugs for cancer treatment and other pathologies that especially affect neonates.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The owner of a pharmacy who allegedly bought the stolen products was also arrested.
