\u2022 The Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, leads an anti-corruption strategy within the framework of his first 100 days of his management<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>anticorruption team integrated by the Office<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Attorney<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>General, the<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Office<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Comptroller<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>General and the<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Office<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Inspector<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>General<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>work with determination\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>guarantee<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>appropriate<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and legal destination of<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>resources<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>allocated<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>to<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>assistance of Colombian citizens during the sanitary emerg<\/span>ency caused by Covid-19.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Office of the Attorney General reviewed more than 3,000 contracts signed since the economic and social emergency was decreed, it carried out 189 investigations and 393 inspections. 264 judicial police orders were also carried out in 32 Departments of the country. Currently, there are 68 investigations open and 15 attested copies were submitted to the Delegate Prosecutors before the Supreme Court of Justice.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of this work, the Office of the Attorney General will charge and will request 10 arrest warrants against 10 mayors for multiple crimes, including undue interest in the executions of contracts, execution of contracts without the legal requirements, and various types of embezzlement. The municipal leaders are:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  4. Socorro (Santander), Claudia Luz Alba Porras Rodr\u00edguez.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Calarc\u00e1 (Quind\u00edo), Luis Alberto Balcero Contreras.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. San Pedro (Valle del Cauca), Jhon Jaime Ospina Loaiza.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. San Antonio (Tolima), Jorge Iv\u00e1n V\u00e1squez Mart\u00ednez.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Guaduas (Cundinamarca), Germ\u00e1n Herrera G\u00f3mez.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Palocabildo (Tolima), Nelson G\u00f3mez Vel\u00e1squez.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Cove\u00f1as (Sucre), Rafael Antonio Ospina Toscano.<\/span>Mayors of Guaduas y Palocabildo were arrested.<\/span>\n

    Three other mayors will be summoned for questioning:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      4. Communications Chief to the Mayor\u00b4s Office in Sincelejo, Gustavo P\u00e9rez Mier.<\/span><\/li>\n
      5. Contract supervisor in Sincelejo, Diomedes de Jes\u00fas Guevara Pereira.<\/span><\/li>\n
      6. Legal Representative Biel People Publicidad, Hugo Jos\u00e9 Tabares Sierra.<\/span><\/li>\n

        4. Risk Management Director in Pereira (Risaralda), Alexander L\u00f3pez.<\/span><\/li>\n
        5. Departmental Education Secretary in Arauca, William Ar\u00e9valo.<\/span><\/li>\n
        6. Advisor on Culture and Turism in Arauca, Omar Alberto Cisneros.<\/span><\/li>\n

            It should be noted that this unit is carrying out investigations into 14 governors:<\/span><\/p>\n

            Arauca (three cases), Magdalena (three cases), Cesar (three cases), San Andr\u00e9s (two cases), Guaviare (two cases), Vichada (two cases ); and Choc\u00f3, Valle del Cauca, Tolima, Casanare, Bol\u00edvar, Sucre, Amazonas and Vaup\u00e9s (one case respectively).<\/span><\/p>\n

            Decisions will be made in the next days and will be related to accusations, arrest warrants against Departmental and Municipal governors for criminal actions on corruption.<\/span><\/p>\n
