{"id":38703,"date":"2020-04-27T15:27:59","date_gmt":"2020-04-27T20:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=38703"},"modified":"2020-04-28T09:10:37","modified_gmt":"2020-04-28T14:10:37","slug":"office-of-the-attorney-general-achieved-convictions-on-aggressions-committed-against-demobilized-farcs-members-in-tolima","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/04\/27\/office-of-the-attorney-general-achieved-convictions-on-aggressions-committed-against-demobilized-farcs-members-in-tolima\/","title":{"rendered":"Office of the Attorney General achieved convictions on aggressions committed against demobilized Farc\u00b4s members in Tolima"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The Special Investigation Unit (<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">La Unidad Especial de Investigaci\u00f3n\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">UEI) of the Office of the Attorney General focuses its efforts on clarifying any act of violence committed against social leaders or former members of armed groups who returned to civilian life, as well as of their relatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">As a matter of fact, sentences were achieved in two different processes conducted before the Special Circuit Court of Chaparral (Tolima).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">In the first decision, Jhon Eric Rinc\u00f3n Garc\u00eda was sentenced to 205 months in prison (17 years) for the offense committed against the demobilized Farc member Gerardo D\u00edaz Quintero, which took place on April 13, 2019, in Chaparral (Tolima). The defendant was charged with aggravated homicide, and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">In the second decision, Celimo Antonio Betancourt Correa was sentenced to\u00a0\u00a09 years in prison for the offense committed against the demobilized Farc member Jos\u00e9 Andrade Betancourth Leal which took place on August 6, 2019, in Rioblanco (Tolima).
