{"id":38654,"date":"2020-03-26T08:38:46","date_gmt":"2020-03-26T13:38:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=38654"},"modified":"2020-03-30T09:15:03","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T14:15:03","slug":"alleged-ringleader-of-the-criminal-organization-los-caparros-who-is-investigated-for-the-murder-of-a-social-leader-in-antioquia-was-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/03\/26\/alleged-ringleader-of-the-criminal-organization-los-caparros-who-is-investigated-for-the-murder-of-a-social-leader-in-antioquia-was-arrested\/","title":{"rendered":"Alleged ringleader of the criminal organization \u2018Los Caparros\u2019, who is investigated for the murder of  a social leader in Antioquia, was arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"en-US\">As a result of a joint investigation and operation between the Investigative Unit (Unidad Especial de Investigaci\u00f3n (UEI) in Spanish) of the Office of the Attorney General, the National Police and the National Army, Jos\u00e9 Gabriel Casta\u00f1eda Vargas, alias El Pol\u00edtico, the alleged ringleader of the criminal structure\u00a0\u00a0&#8216; Los Caparros&#8217; in\u00a0\u00a0Bajo Cauca Antioquia, was arrested.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">According to information collected by authorities, this person would be responsible for committing intimidations, extortions, and selective murders ordered by alias Ca\u00edn or Pilatos, who is the top ringleader of the Organized Armed Group (<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Grupo Armado Organizado (GAO) in Spanish).<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0As a matter of fact, he is accused of the murder of the community leader Norberto Alonso Guti\u00e9rrez Ram\u00edrez, which took place on September 3, 2019, in the rural settlement La Caucana-Taraz\u00e1 (Antioquia).<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">For these facts, the Office of the Attorney General charged alias \u2018El Pol\u00edtico\u2019 with conspiracy to commit murder, extortion, forced displacement, drug trafficking, and illegal manufacture, trafficking and\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">possession of firearms\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">for the exclusive use of the military forces.
