{"id":38502,"date":"2020-03-05T19:53:48","date_gmt":"2020-03-05T19:53:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=38502"},"modified":"2020-03-20T16:22:21","modified_gmt":"2020-03-20T16:22:21","slug":"former-president-of-league-triathlon-in-santander-who-allegedly-confirmed-false-information-in-order-to-request-us-visas-was-sentenced-to-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2020\/03\/05\/former-president-of-league-triathlon-in-santander-who-allegedly-confirmed-false-information-in-order-to-request-us-visas-was-sentenced-to-prison\/","title":{"rendered":"Former president of League Triathlon in Santander who allegedly confirmed false information in order to request US visas was sentenced to prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i><span lang=\"en-US\">The Office of the Attorney General and Migration authorities in Colombia have evidence that \u00d3scar Mauricio Uribe Pinilla issued letters certifying the status of high-performance athletes to people who did not meet that condition.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">During hearings carried out in the so-called\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Complejo Judicial de Paloquemao<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0a prosecutor from the Special Directorate against Criminal Organizations charged \u00d3scar Mauricio Uribe Pinilla, former president of the Santander Triathlon League, with smuggling of migrants (alleged responsible).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The prosecutor<\/span><b><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"en-US\">hearing the case<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0revealed that Uribe Pinilla would have created a false model of consultancy to process United States visas, in which the profiles of the applicants were allegedly modified with false information about their socioeconomic, labor and family status.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Apparently, he took advantage of his status of manager and gave his &#8216;clients&#8217; certifications from the Triathlon League or the Institute of Sports in Santander\u00a0\u00a0(<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Instituto de Deportes de Santander) in order to impersonate them as<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0high-performance athletes or employees of these entities in positions such as doctors, physiotherapists, massage therapists, logistics staff, among others.
