In the afternoon, he visited the Sectional Office of Bogot\u00e1 and had a meeting with the director, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In C\u00facuta<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Attorney General was accompanied by the Director of the Public safety Office, Carmen Torres Malaver.<\/p>\n<p>At the meeting, Attorney General Barbosa received first-hand information on different ways of violence that affect the region and reviewed the progress of investigations against organized crime, drug trafficking, corruption, illegal economies and other crimes in the border area.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The message sent to criminals, to those who are trying to have citizens\u2019 back against the wall, is that the Attorney General&#8217;s Office is in charge of protecting citizens,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<p>In C\u00facuta, he visited new laboratories, equipment used to improve the criminal investigation, centers where citizens receive assistance, the Immediate Reaction Unit (<strong>Unidad de Reacci\u00f3n Inmediata URI)<\/strong>, as well as other services provided by the new headquarters in Norte de Santander.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Bogot\u00e1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa, had a conversation with the director of the Sectional Office of Bogot\u00e1, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Mart\u00ednez, where he explained the importance of fighting against crimes related to violence against women and minors and discussed topics such as public safety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is unacceptable that rights of women, children and teenagers are violated, not only at home, but also in public places like Transmilenio. We must ensure that human\u00a0rights are\u00a0protected and that they are the main focus of the public policy of the city\u201d, stated Attorney General.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe message to citizenship is that they can remain calm and they must know that we are working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a significant effort of public servants who believe in public service and who are fully supported by the Attorney General, as well as by all Colombian citizens\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>This is the fourth visit of the Attorney General as part of his strategy \u2018<em>la Fiscal\u00eda General de la Naci\u00f3n en la calle y en los territorios<\/em>\u2019.
