Arrest warrants against the above mentioned ringleaders have been issued. Assets for more than 5 billion pesos were seized as a result of proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of the Attorney General and National Police, through the mounted police (Direcci\u00f3n de Carabineros), formed a technical and investigation team that, in a year and a half, identified a criminal organization which controlled the extraction of gold in the so-called <em>Tri\u00e1ngulo de Telemb\u00ed<\/em> (Nari\u00f1o), created front companies to process mineral and designed several methods to hide and illegally transport ingots to Ecuador and Peru.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Office of the Attorney General and National Police arrested 8 alleged members of a criminal network carrying out illegal mining activities in Tri\u00e1ngulo de Telemb\u00ed (Nari\u00f1o).
