{"id":35901,"date":"2016-09-16T17:25:51","date_gmt":"2016-09-16T22:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=35901"},"modified":"2016-09-19T17:29:24","modified_gmt":"2016-09-19T22:29:24","slug":"two-people-were-arrested-for-validating-fake-medical-degrees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2016\/09\/16\/two-people-were-arrested-for-validating-fake-medical-degrees\/","title":{"rendered":"Two people were arrested for validating fake medical degrees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a result of investigations conducted by the Office of the Attorney General regarding inconsistencies in the validation of degrees in plastic surgery and medicine,<strong> <\/strong>a person was arrested and a preventive detention order was issued against another one.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Attorney General, Mar\u00eda Paulina Riveros, stressed that &#8220;convincing measures have been taken to attack this phenomenon and, in particular, in those important cases related to the education sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter designing a specific investigative plan, Leonor Herre\u00f1o Aguilar, a public servant from the Ministry of Education, was arrested today since she allegedly validated degrees from foreign universities for people who did not meet the requirements to earn them.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Office of the Attorney General managed to suspend fake medical degrees obtained by Cristian Felipe Borrero Guerrero, Carlos Eduardo Calder\u00f3n Carrascal and Liliana Lourdes Mamian Cer\u00f3n so they cannot continue working with those licenses.
