This was part of an investigation which was conducted by the Specialized Prosecutor `s Office against Criminal Gangs.<\/p>\n<p>According to the investigation, arrested people had links with the so called <em>Oficina de Envigado <\/em>and when they committed extortions they identified themselves as members of the criminal gangs <em>La Empresa<\/em> and <em>Los Paisas<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Cuadrado Jim\u00e9nez\u00a0 and Casta\u00f1o Ortiz allegedly operated in sectors such as La Dorada and La Victoria (Caldas); Puerto Salgar (Cundinamarca), Mariquita and\u00a0 Honda (Tolima) and\u00a0 Sons\u00f3n (Antioquia).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Preventive detention orders with imprisonment were issued by a municipal judge with supervisory functions (control de garant\u00edas) in Manizales (Caldas) against Elmeth Jes\u00fas Cuadrado Jim\u00e9nez, alias El Coste\u00f1o, and Carlos Armando Casta\u00f1o Ortiz, alias Wilson, for almost 40 cases of extortion against farmers and businessmen in Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Tolima and Caldas.
