On September 8, 2014 the Department of International Management asked the Department of Justice to verify whether Mr. Ariel Josu\u00e9 Mart\u00ednez who was arrested with a view to\u00a0 extradition on March 18, 2014 in San Vicente del Cagu\u00e1n is, in effect, the person wanted by the United States.<\/p>\n<p>2. Yesterday, September 9, 2014 officials from Department of Justice informed the Attorney General&#8217;s Office that they will withdraw the extradition request for Ariel Josu\u00e9 Mart\u00ednez who remains in <em>La Picota<\/em> Central Penitentiary Center in Bogot\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>3. Today, Wednesday we received from Ministry of Foreign Affairs an official notification of the United States Embassy in which the withdrawal of the request for extradition was formalized.<\/p>\n<p>4.
