Today in Medell\u00edn (Antioquia), the Interim Attorney General, Jorge Fernando Perdomo Torres, handed over the findings on the expert report concerning the causes of Space building collapse which occurred on October 12, 2013 causing the death of twelve people.<\/p>\n
According to the report, the construction company committed negligence, the concrete used had little resistance, no memories (support documents of the project) and structural drawings were reviewed and there was not the proper technical supervision of the project.<\/p>\n
Next week, the Attorney General\u00b4s Office will hand down an indictment against Pablo Villegas Mesa, legal representative of the construction company\u00a0 L\u00e9rida CDO; Maria Cecilia Posada Grisales, director of the project\u00a0 and Jorge de Jes\u00fas Aristiz\u00e1bal Ochoa, structural engineer, for a manslaughter offense. An indictment against the Approved Inspector of Medell\u00edn, Carlos Alberto Ruiz will be handed down for the\u00a0 crime of\u00a0 breach of public duty (action).<\/p>\n
The senior official also highlighted the work of the regional Prosecutor’s Offices of Medellin and Antioquia and stated that during the first half of this year, 800 arrests were conducted in this area of the country according to a court order.<\/p>\n
