{"id":31427,"date":"2013-03-21T11:17:56","date_gmt":"2013-03-21T16:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=31427"},"modified":"2013-03-22T18:13:14","modified_gmt":"2013-03-22T23:13:14","slug":"a-prosecutor-was-convicted-for-demanding-a-bribery-of-300000-pesos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2013\/03\/21\/a-prosecutor-was-convicted-for-demanding-a-bribery-of-300000-pesos\/","title":{"rendered":"A prosecutor was convicted for demanding a bribery of 300,000 pesos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A prosecutor of Tad\u00f3 (Choc\u00f3) was convicted for the offense of aggravated extortion, after demanding 300 thousand pesos from a transporter who was carrying a shipment of cement to Choc\u00f3 region.\u00a0 He extorted the transporter in order to return him the vehicle and its load which he retained.<\/p>\n<p>This decision was issued once the Unit for the investigations of Judicial Officers brought forward the process against Adimel Chaverra Dur\u00e1n, prosecutor of this municipality, due to the fact that\u00a0 in 2010 this official asked Jos\u00e9 Uriel L\u00f3pez Pati\u00f1o, driver of the truck that carried the goods, for money.<\/p>\n<p>The driver decided to call the owner of the cargo, Efra\u00edn Restrepo Londo\u00f1o, since he had the possibility of losing some benefits if he had to pay the bribery.
