{"id":31180,"date":"2013-01-26T08:34:49","date_gmt":"2013-01-26T13:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=31180"},"modified":"2013-01-28T15:31:19","modified_gmt":"2013-01-28T20:31:19","slug":"nine-individuals-captured-and-machinery-seized-in-an-operation-against-illegal-mining","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2013\/01\/26\/nine-individuals-captured-and-machinery-seized-in-an-operation-against-illegal-mining\/","title":{"rendered":"Nine individuals captured and machinery seized in an operation against illegal mining"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two operations against illegal gold exploitation carried out by Colombia\u2019s Technical Investigation Team (CTI) of the Attorney General Office, gave as a result nine people captured and a large amount of seized machinery in the shore of the Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n<p>Firstly, a joint procedure among CTI and the group of investigations against environmental offences, and with the support of the army, a raid and search operation was carried out in el Guaje mine, reserve in the municipality of Atrato-Yuto.<\/p>\n<p>Nine people who are investigated for the alleged commission of an offence related to damages to natural resources and illicit exploitation of a mining deposit and other materials were there captured. Two backhoes and three tractors were seized in this place.<\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, in the rural settlement El Naranjal, jurisdiction of the municipality of Guachen\u00e9 (Cauca), CTI found a large amount of machinery and equipment for the illegal extraction of gold. Six camps and machinery were found there.<\/p>\n<p>Two backhoes, three sorter rollers and three water pumps were seized in this place.
