{"id":20759,"date":"2012-08-13T10:19:39","date_gmt":"2012-08-13T15:19:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/?p=20759"},"modified":"2012-08-22T16:49:21","modified_gmt":"2012-08-22T21:49:21","slug":"ten-individuals-were-remanded-in-custody-for-currency-counterfeit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiscalia.gov.co\/colombia\/en\/2012\/08\/13\/ten-individuals-were-remanded-in-custody-for-currency-counterfeit\/","title":{"rendered":"Ten individuals were remanded in custody for currency counterfeit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By requesting of the Attorney General Office, The 31 Municipal Penal Judge, acting as Supervisory Judge, by means of a remand in custody measure, affected ten alleged responsible for US Dollars, Pounds, Euros and Colombian Pesos counterfeit.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor in charge of the case and assigned to the Special National Unit of offences against Intellectual Propriety and Telecommunications blamed defendants for offences of currency counterfeit, currency trafficking, and criminal association which were not accepted by defendants.<\/p>\n<p>Also, during arrest procedures, authorities seized two printers, four molding plates, holography tapes, two guillotines, printing sheets for USD, counterfeit currency and mechanical mill for ink printing, among others consumables.<\/p>\n<p>Eladio Hern\u00e1ndez, alleged ringleader of the network, Jimmy and Johnny Hern\u00e1ndez Chac\u00f3n (Hern\u00e1ndez\u2019sons), Jorge Salamanca Espejo, Luis Obdulio Barreto, Juan Carlos Romero Maltex and Jermi Pe\u00f1a Chac\u00f3n were imprisoned in The National Prison Modelo by order of the above mentioned Supervisory Judge.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, Luz Mery Murcia G\u00f3mez y Mar\u00eda Amparo Jaramillo S\u00e1nchez, were imprisoned to Buen Pastor Prison.
