During the period he was in charge, he incorporated 4315 officials to the institution, who belonged to the \u201cDirecci\u00f3n Nacional de Instrucci\u00f3n Criminal\u201d (Criminal Preliminary Investigation National Direction); 2693 from the Technical Corps of Judicial Police, 874 from the Office of the Inspector General of the Republic, and 373 from the Public Order Jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, he established the organizational structure of the Office of the Attorney General; ruled the Judicial Police Council; assigned competences to the Prosecutors\u2019 Units; and made the Administrative Division of Prosecutors\u2019 Sectional Directions. Besides, he consolidated the duties and responsibilities of the Sectional and Regional Council of Judicial Police, and determined the organization and operation of the Sectional and Regional Directions of the Attorney General\u2019s Corps of Investigators.<\/p>\n<p>During his period, he dismantled the cartel of Medell\u00edn, and defeated Pablo Escobar Gaviria, leader of this organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Attorney General between 1992 and 1994 He placed the foundations for the structure of the Office of the Attorney General.
