He holds a Law degree from Universidad Santo Tomás in Bucaramanga (Santander). He majored in Criminal Law at Universidad Sergio Arboleda. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Criminal Procedure Law at the same university.
He has experience as judicial operator since 1994.
At the Office of the Attorney General he has served as local prosecutor, sectional prosecutor and special prosecutor. Currently, he is a permanent public servant. He has worked at the Sectional Office of Bucaramanga, Santa Rosa de Viterbo and Bogotá; as well as the National Anti-Corruption Unit, the National Unit against Kidnapping and Extortion, the National Unit against Criminal Organizations, and the National Directorate against Organized Crime.
He was Magistrate of the Council of State, and he worked at the Office of the Inspector General (Procuraduría General de la Nación) as Delegate before the Public Ministry in Criminal Matters and before the Supreme Court of Justice.
