After approving the evidence provided by a specialized prosecutor of the Sectional Office in Bolívar, two foreigners were sentenced to 35 years and 3 months in prison for their responsibility in the murder of a 28-year-old man.
The judicial decision is related to Kelvin José López García and Douglas José Rodríguez Herrera, both 23 years old, due to facts that were committed on August 6, 2022 on public roads of Torices neighborhood, in Cartagena (Bolívar).
According to the investigation, López García shot the victim repeatedly and fled the scene on a motorcycle that was waiting for him and was driven by Rodríguez Herrera. The victim was helped by the community, but he died 13 days later at the medical center where he was treated due to the severity of his injuries.
National Police, who were near the scene, were alerted about facts and managed to arrest them when they collided with a public service vehicle. During their arrest, a firearm, a supplier and three cartridges were seized.
Those defendants were found guilty of aggravated homicide and aggravated manufacturing, trafficking, or possession a firearm for the exclusive use of the Public Force.
