At the request of a prosecutor of the Center for Assistance of victims of Domestic Violence (Centro de Atención a Víctimas de Violencia Intrafamiliar (Cavif) in Spanish), a judge issued an arrest warrant against Ronald Enrique Méndez Meza, allegedly responsible for the crime of aggravated domestic violence.

The facts occurred on April 13 in the Bazurto market in the main city of Bolívar, where the defendant would have physically attacked his 44-year-old former partner.

According to the investigation, this person was in that place with several people, and once he met his former partner, he would have beaten her and threatened to kill her son.

In compliance with a court order, the 39-year-old man was arrested by the National Police. During the hearings he did not plead guilty to the charges filed by the Office of the Attorney General and the in the case, imposed a prison sentence. He must serve the sentence in Ternera de La Heroica prison.
