Eduardo Montealegre Lynett

Attorney at law graduated from Universidad Externado de Colombia, who pursued graduate studies on Criminal Law at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, and Constitutional Right at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany.

Among some of the public posts he has held, it is worth noting the following: Criminal trial judge in 1981; Municipal criminal judge in 1982; alternate judge at Superior Courts in and for the Circuit of  Bogotá and Cundinamarca (Criminal Court) and Colombian National Court of Customs; in several occasions interim Inspector General of the Republic of Colombia in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000); and Vice-Inspector General of the Republic of Colombia from January 16, 1997 to January 9, 2001.

Performed as justice for the Colombian Constitutional Court from 2001 to May 2004; and has also been professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedural Law.
